Today marks four months to go until the 17th Australian Masters Games and party-time gets underway Adelaide.
The Games is known just as much for the social program as it is for the sport and this year the party will deliver an exciting entertainment lineup throughout the week, including a tribute to the piano man himself, Billy Joel.
Fresh off a huge national tour, Celebrating the Music of Billy Joel with Anthony Mara will be performing on the final night of the Games, Saturday 12 October, closing the 2019 event in style.
The full live band consists of the finest musicians around, plus state of the art sound and lighting, in a powerful show that has all the classic Billy Joel hits such as: “Piano Man”, “New York State Of Mind”, “Honesty”, “It’s Still Rock’n’roll To Me”, “Uptown Girl”, “We Didn’t Start The Fire”, “River Of Dreams” plus many more.
“It’s a great honour to be performing at the Australian Masters Games closing ceremony, such a great national community event being held right here in our hometown of Adelaide,” Mara said.
“By the time October comes around, the Billy Joel Tribute Concert will have toured and performed over 20 shows in five States around the country in 2019, so to come home for this party event will be an awesome thrill for us. We can’t wait!”
As always, the Games will kick off with the much-loved athlete march into the Adelaide Convention Centre welcoming everyone to the weeklong festival of sport on Saturday 5 October.
Adelaide cover band Blackjack will be on hand bringing the tunes and welcoming the over 8,000 participants and their supporters to the Games. Their music ranges from ABBA and Stevie Wonder to Justin Timberlake and Beyonce and will surely get everyone moving.
“Blackjack are very excited to kick off the Master Games in Adelaide 2019,” the band said.

Marion’s Fitness and Leisure centre was packed on the last day of the Australian Masters Games with many gymnasts putting their skills to the test.
After playing each other twice in the competition so far, the ledger stood at one-all between the Camira Amigos and the Allsorts heading into the 35+ competitive softball gold medal match.
